Srt-4 is no more
Welp, i did it, i totaled my car.
Fortunately it wasn't street racing related. I was driving home from a friends house down pecos doen about 80 (speed limit is 65). When somethen spooked me, i don't know for sure because i don't remeber. I hit the breaks and my car lost traction goen sideways and hit a curb goen to fast. I hit the curb caught a couple feet of air. Landed on my top crunched that in about a couple inches and it nailed my head given me a concushion. I then proceded to roll a few more times off into the desert. When the car stopped rolling, i woke up to find my car still running, my roof was caved in about a couple inches, but i was still able to some how turn off the car, and open my door and close it. I then walked to the street, called my mom. I came home this morning at 6 am. Went to sleep woke up and here i am. I will be goen to the impound lot or where ever the car is to take some photos, i dunno what it looks like but i am sure its bad. As soon as i get the photos i will post em here. Re: Srt-4 is no more
Well the main thing is that you're ok, becuase they make new cars everyday.
Sucks that it happened and man it just sounds like you are really lucky to be posting that!

Re: Srt-4 is no more
yeah, i haven't seen it yet but i knew it was bad when the po came down to the hosiptal to shake my hand and tell me he has no clue how i only bumped my head in that wreck.
LOL, seatbelts really do save lives. Well, BTW getting gap insurance is a must, i actually opted for gap insurance on this car (6k of gap insurance). I will prolly be looken at a VW gti 1.8t or VR6 gti I might also look into a Scion XA (gas milage and slow) so that l8er on down the road i can slap one of the many turbo kits they have for that car on. |

Chex, all I can say is I know exactly how you feel. I totalled my SRT-4 kinda the same way, I didnt roll over but I wrapped it around a tree well enough. I'm sorry bro, I hope you can replace it.
thank goodness you didnt get killed. I know people will tell you "well at least your still alive" and "you can replace the car but not you life" and such. deep down inside you feel like bursting out and breaking everything around you out of pure rage. you keep telling yourself "its a dream, its a dream, I'll wake up, I just gotta wake up!" but you dont. Its hard as hell to loose something you care about so much and there are no words to make you feel better. hope you get better and solve this all soon. you have my deepest sympathies.

Re: Srt-4 is no more
You're lucky to be alive. Sorry to hear about your car though. Good thing you had insurance though.
As for your next car, join the natural aspirations crew. I'd suggest probably a Scion xA, or tC, because you have the option or going turbo later. You could also get a WRX, or maybe even an EVO.

Re: Srt-4 is no more
So you just randomly freaked out and swerved the car and hit the curb?
Random as hell... you win the award for most unexplained actions in a car award. But glad to hear you're okay!

Re: Srt-4 is no more
Sounds like a hell of a wreck you were in. Had I met you, I probably would have shook your hand as well. Glad you made it out alive.
If you can, just swap your SRT-T motor into something else. That would be pretty cool. Although, I don't know what you could swap your motor into. But atleast, you had some good insurance on that. Good luck in the search for your new car. |

I dunno it the motor is still good, it was still running and i turned it off when i got out of the car. The motor is the same block as the dohc 2.0 liter its just bored out. So it bolts right into a Neon. I dunno if i want another Srt-4, those things are tanks, i can attest to it. But i dunno how my insurance would like me behind the wheels of another Srt-4 Last edited by chexmixa; 05-24-2005 at 05:08 PM. |

Re: Srt-4 is no more
sad to hear it but I'm sure it was a fun car while it lasted.
My friend was just in almost the same thing with his jeep, he had a concussion as well so he doesn't remember anything that happened in the accident. Time for a new automobile.

Re: Srt-4 is no more
Welp i went to check out my car today
Body + suspension = toast Engine and intercooler don't have a scratch and the tranny is flawless. Had a nice lil discussion with the parental unit, no more sports cars for me. So its time for a project car, i am gunna go and buy an old honda and do a motor swap. Last edited by chexmixa; 05-24-2005 at 05:09 PM. |
