Re: Accents...

The only person who told me I have an "east coast" accent is Oz. I've lived in Kansas City, and there is a lil bit of an accent here and there, but it's not too bad. No one from KC knew I wasn't a "local yokel" from my speech. I've visited northern California, which also had a slight accent, but not much. Almost like a drawl but not twangy. None of them knew where I was from based upon any accent, either. I guess I speak somewhat neutrally.... which considering "Picksburghese", that's a GOOD thing.

Re: Accents...

I live in North Carolina. I love the Dukes of Hazzard. I have a Silverado with a Dixie horn. I know people that could make Jeff Foxworthy look like he belongs at Donald Trumps side.

Ya'll all need to git to cetchin that thur possum fore it gets away. Thelma kin cook it up fer us.

Okay, were not that bad in North Carolina. I do have a southern accent, but I can turn it off when I need to.

Re: Accents...

I've had a lot of accents because Ive moved so much. When I moved to california, everyone knew I was from texas because of how I talked.
When I left california and went to Hawaii, everyone knew I was from california.
When I left Hawaii, and went to Ohio, people didnt know where the hell I was from but they thought I talked funny.
I never picked up an Ohio accent because I wasnt there long enough, and I wouldnt want that accent anyways.

I would have to agree. I live in Utah and if you've ever heard your own voice on tape it kind of sounds that way.

Re: Accents...

Well, I was born and live in the state of Michigan, but everyone thinks I am from the south. They all say I have a southern accent and whatnot. I don’t know it might be the blood or something. People get a kick out of my George bush and Larry the cable guy impersonations. There is this one kid in my school that calls my cowboy, I said one day "why do you call me cowboy" he said, "Cause you sound like your from the south" Hell I really don’t know. Southern people say warsh instead of wash and idear instead of idea. You want to hear the world idear? Watch American chopper.
