I have a 92' Caprice Classic with a 5.0L - bought it this last year with 56k miles on it , some grandma didn't drive it too much and picked myself up a good deal on it, I want to do more performance wise to it, been looking to finish the exterior first though , have a billet grille and have a new police spotlight i plan on installing, My sound system is coming together nicely as well just need to install 3 audiobahn 12's to give me some more bass, other than that its an amazing car as is.

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
I just bought an 83 4D classic w/ a 3.8L 2bbl ohv. Do you know of anything I can do to improve "cold starts" and anything performance wise?

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
I have a Chevy Caprice Classic, 1989. Great car, hardly any problems. 350 engine, I love it. BUT the headliner is starting to sag! Oh well, guess I shouldn't complain.. its 15 years old!

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
I've had a few Caprices...
blue '79 2-door with a 350
white '81 2-door with a 305
2 tone brown '83 4-door with a 267
2 tone blue '85 with 305
white '91 ex-cruiser with a 305
...and I still have the last two
I love these cars. Easy to work on, easy to find parts, cops pay no attention to you (unless you have a 9C1 ) and cheap!

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
Here's a pic of my '84. She's got a 305 and a mere 122k on it. Let me know what you think of the sonoma wheels.

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
84 Caprice estate wagon.
Pics here http://www.mvc-net.net/index.html
im000905 is a photoshop edit. wanted to know what the car would look like if it was black..
160k miles on it. runs ok if I unplug the computer from the distibutor, makes alot of noise and missfires like crazy with it pluged in.
pretty much still stock, rebuildt carb, replaced the stock valve covers with some chrome ones, working on rebuild the pcv crap so i can replace the air cleaner asymbaly.
Anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
Mine is a 1971 Kingswood Estate (that's what Chevy called the Caprice Estate before '73 - the wagons were RADICALLY DIFFERENT from the "trunked" versions from '71 - '76 and deserved different names!) 6-passenger, 402 big block, TH400, undergoing complete restoration. I also have a parts car, same year & model, no powertrain. I will have plenty of parts left over once the project is complete, in case anyone in this forum is into these big, old cars like I am and needs anything...

I have a 1990 white 9c1 Caprice. It has about a 161k miles on it. Original engine (5.7 L) and second transmission. Despite the years, it is holding up very well, requiring only small fixes for minor things. In the future, however, I plan to add duel mufflers (only has one right now but the frame is designed for two), add a push bar (still has holes from old one), new paint job (last one was crappy), and get the police scanner to work again.
