not much to look at right now
This pic is from February but it looks about the same.
It has the og 305 ci w/ 207,348 original miles on it. Mostly factory except for CD player, rear axle from a 79 coupe deville(the posi went up and I couldn't afford to rebuild it at the time). Has an electric sunroof but for now does not open, I cannot find the rubber that goes on the glass itself because it is not factory so they don't have it. Originally it was a two-tone gray on top and dark brown on the bottom but the clear coat had faded and once I started fixing the dents I got tired of looking at spots. I recently rebuilt the front suspension as well as replaced the rotors and brakes, still needs an alignment though. Has a dark brown clothe interior which I intend to keep as is except for redoing the door panels in either vinyl or leather.
For the future I plan to get a set of 100 spoke chrome wire wheels with white walls and on day would like to install a simple 2 pump, 4 dump, 4 battery, 4 switch setup in her for fbss.

I've got a 1992 Caprice (No, not even a Classic). Damn I love that car! It's just a 305, but I've done a little bit to her. She's not stock. :ylsuper I finally got her dualed, nice 3" chrome tips on there, too. The pic is b4 the duals. Still no hubcaps/wheels, I drive too fast for hubcaps.
I love my boat. My dad had a 96 Impala SS, but some old bastard with Alzheimer's (sp?) ran a stop sign and totaled it. Moment of silence please. Thankyou. He's got a Silverado SS now though. Not a bad replacement, even though it's a truck.
Anyway, the reason I am writing this is to see if anyone knows where to go to get any good performance parts for the 1992 caprice. I'm wondering if a cold-air intake from a 92 Chev C/K 1500 would work on mine, since the engine is identical.

I just found this place. I have an '81 Caprice 2dr with some minor mods. There are a few more on my wish list, but it is hard to comvince the wife. She is not into cars like I am. My profile should have a pic of the engine that I put in the car.

Or does anybody know of where a setup can be purchased, as well as any other performance parts for this size motor ?
Thanks,

wheels and rims
I have a fairly clean 92 caprice. Right now it is sitting on 15" smoothie rims with baby moom center caps. Tomorrow I plan to order new tires and rims. 255/50WR17 Conti Extreme Contact tires to be mounted on 17x8.5" Modera B52 rims. I am looking for a smoother ride, better handling around curves and over bumps, and a meaner looking stance in the driveway. This is a big jump for me and I would like any advice or comments suspention upgrading or neg or pos about my tire and wheel selection. This is my 1st full size chevy and my 1st computer so I can use all the help I can get.

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
Yeah, it is cool to come across a site like this! My Caprice is actually my girlfriends as she basically inherited it from her Grandmother back in late '98. It is a very well loaded (but not quite everythng), 1993 Caprice Classic LS with the 5.0L. She received it with only 27,000 miles on it in about 5 1/2 years. It was pretty much flawless with the exception of a filthy engine bay and in need of some overall detailing. It is now at almost 108,000 miles and has never looked better or run better. We have nothing but good things to say about the car and it runs pretty strong with only the slightest of mods. I need to check the VIN# once to see exactly what the colors are called - but it is a nice metalic tan color with tan leather interior. It is our "daily driver" as I also have a clean 1997 Ford F150 XLT and my baby (and garage queen), 1999 30th Anniversary WS6 Trans Am.
Anyway, great to come across this forum and look forward to chatting with you guys.
I am currently in the middle of changing out the "sliders" on the driver's door window and also need to reprogram one of my original factory remotes (if it was just the batteries and not the remote that actually died). The link above should take care of me on the sliders - but maybe someone can point me in the right direction on programming the remote. Thanks! Patrick

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
i have a 78 caprice classic wagon
its "light camel" on the top and "gold metallic" on the bottom it has a 350 and 150,000 miles
i bought it 15 months ago from the first owner's son who was selling it for him for $850
the worst part is the rusted frame i put a hole in it with a tire changing jack from a newer car.
ive repalced the power steering pump, the starter, and then the radiator broke around columbus day and the bottom trans cooler line the fitting was rusted to the line so that complicated things. so i didnt have enough money for a new radiator so i bought a radiator from a junkyard and it was broke in the same place so i called the junkyard. even though i knew theyd do nothing. and they said "we dont sell broken parts" so now i have to get another, i have enough for another junkyard one but i wont take the risk and on top of all that its cold now. theres more but i dont want to make this any longer.
that car can do it all... when it wants to
all summer i used it for work, hauling lots of stuff
i earned more than i paid for the car
and at night id go put the hurt on some ricers but
it usually worked the other way
im looking forward to when its fixed!

Caprice owner
I have a 93 caprice. I built a new 5.0 with flat top pistons, ported and polished heads, roller lifters and rockers, slid in a LT1 cam, added MSD ignition and a little chrome. All new interior from carpet to headliner including seats upholstered, (got that new car smell again). Put in a new front end with brake assemblies. Working on the exterior now. It also has strobes in all four corners, wig wags, red and blues on front grill and back deck, 100 watt siren with PA plus the standard police radios. I am looking for a rear wheel disk brake system to replace the standard drum system now on the car.

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
I currently own, and cannot drive due to electrical issues, a 1984 Caprice wagon, 305 4-barrel V8/700R4. This is a $325 car.
The last fullsize Chevy I owned was a 1978 Impala wagon (305/THM350, paid $160) and before that I had a 1980 Caprice sedan (267/THM350, paid $300).
I like cheap cars.
EDIT: I forgot one...I was once given (for free) a 1988 Caprice police package with no motor or transmission...never got around to putting a drivetrain in and it was impounded by the city I parked it in (Lancaster, Ohio)

Here's my 1982 sport coupe. Mostly stock, except no emissions stuff like cats (they were gone when I got it). Also, edelbrock intake manifold and dual exhaust. Note the baby moon hubcaps... those get lots of comments. Body is in sucky shape, but it runs and that's all that really matters.

Re: Calling All Caprice owners.
I have a 91 Caprice Classic with 221k km on it and love every inch of the big baby. She needs a little rear brake work but that can waite for the warmer weather as I have another car to use. Its great to finally find a site like this. Thanks
