you should probably find out for sure if that bet is for real before you do anything...just throwing that out there...oh and maybe knowing if he has any mods would be good as well...after all knowledge is half the battle (thanks G.I. Joe)

Re: mazda rx-8 vs. gtp comp g

oops, that was a typo, i meant for it to read 3.25 pulley instead of 3.35. So your saying a 3.3 would be fine with the cai and the plugs and thermostats would be fine for the meantime? To your experience, would the car have KR with that pulley?

Hmmm. To the best of your experience, do you think adding this pulley will be bad? i didnt mean 3.35, it was a typo. I meant 3.25. I just dont want to take power away. What pulley are you running on your gp?

Mike,
Your right. Knowledge is half of the battle.
If this guy really wants to run for a $1000.00. I'd say he is 100% sure he is going to win.
I don't think I'd try to figure out what to put in MY car. I'd find out what he has put in HIS.
Save your money. With that $1000.00 you can do a lot of mods to your's.

I was thinking, the motor trend test for the rx-8 was done by a porfessional who knows how to shift accurately. So maybe this kid that i will race will not know how to shift right(6 speed). RX8..... SMARRRRRX8?????? Been there beat that.... If he is completely stock you shouldn't have to much of a problem. I raced one another night and I had him about 2.5 car lengths in a 3rd of a mile (IT WAS 37 DEGREES OUTSIDE). He did take off pretty quick though. All I have on my Comp G is a K&N Air charger kit and a SLP Catback exhaust system and some good practice at making my push button shifts. I would ask him to do it for kicks. 1000 is steeepp!
