Wheel and tire fitment ?'s, 18x9's offset 18 with 245/45R18
I want to get some 18's for the Stro. Its a 98 rear wheel.
Will these fit:http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...&rw=9&bp=5-127 I don't know much about backspacing on the Stro's. The tires I want to use are 245/45R18. |

If I remember right, the stock size is 205/75/15.
(((20.5/2.54)x.75)x2)+15=27.106" <-- stock (((24.5/2.54)x.45)x2)+18=26.618" <-- ones you want (((24.5/2.54)x.5)x2)+18=27.646" <-- 245/50/18 They will fit, you could even go slightly bigger. That's assuming you have enough room for wider tires. I used to have an '87, and I don't think anything wider than 235/75/15 would fit the front without getting spacers, which I would advise against. |

Re: Wheel and tire fitment ?'s, 18x9's offset 18 with 245/45R18
I'm going to go with the 245/45R18. Not to many tire companies make a 245/50R18 so I went with something that is more abundant so when it comes to having to get a new set of tires I won't have a problem.
The thing that worries me the most is the size and offset of the new rims. I'm worried about the rear wheels hitting the rear sliding door or not being able to open the door fully and the front being able to fit without rubbing the strut or fender. |

Using the wheels offset calculator:http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
I punched in some numbers: Stock 6.5" rim with 0 offset After 9" rim with 18offset Then I got this: The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 50mm LESS The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 14mm So looks like I might be good for the rears, but will the front be able to clear the struts? I would check for myself but I'm in Iraq right now and I can't just go out and have a look with a tape measure and take some measurements from the van. Help a fellow Stro owner out!! Thanks |

Well, I'm using a 245/40/18(rear) with an 8" rim... BSM is +14mm. It will fit with no problem. As for 9" rims it should work(rear only). Up front i'm running 8" rim w/ +14bsm and a 245/40/17 tire. A friend of mine has 255/45/18's(rear) but he has an 8" rim... and they're huge!!! Hope this helps... |

Thanks for the replies. I ended up with Boss black with polished lip 20x8.5 with +14 offset. Nitto 555 255/35R20 tires.
