I had same issue, but i here some are the brake line and if that is not it you have the same problem as me. Mine had the noise and i had aftermarket nerf bars put on and it was thoes. Where they mount the bolts were not long enuf and it was to tight and was runnbing against the frame so the nerf bar manufactuor sent me new bolts and no more squeek.

Re: Re: Re: Squeaky noise coming from driver's side??

I can vouch about the emergency brake cable. We had the same thing happening on our 2005 so I took it to the dealership and of course it would not do it but I was persistent so they had a mechanic to get in the bed of the truck and one under the truck and when he bounced up and down they found that a bracket that held the emergency cable was hitting against something so they moved it and we haven't had a problem since.

Re: Squeaky noise coming from driver's side??

ok, mine is doing the same thing, I am ready to SHOOT MYSELF IN THE HEAD. It is the most terrible noise IN THE WORLD. I would rather have the annoying, high pitched, stereo whine than this crap! I am going to take a look at the E brake cable, (btw this is in a 2001 silverado so chances are that isn't it? I don't know...) but it is terrible, if anyone else can give some info on the silverado that would be great, but until then to e brake cables and e brakes I go.
