AWD performance comparo for 30K

whcih one of these would you prefer

1)Volkswagen R32
2)Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
3)Subaru Impreza WRX STi

there stats

R32-3.2L VR6 240HP,0-60 *5.9sec*
Mitsu Evo- turbocharged 2.0L I-4 271HP,0-60 *5.6sec*
Subaru WRX Sti-Turbocharged 2.5L H-4 300HP,0-60 *4.8sec??*

I got the opportunity to test drive all 3 of these...and found

all-out performance goes to the Sti
amazing handling for the Evo
quickness and handling for the R32

I'd spent the 30k on a previously registered Audi RS4.

Out of the three, the Golf. I find the scooby's and Evo's to boyish and geary.

I'm sorry but those stats are quite funny.

That sti beats the crap out of every supercar out there, and that poor R32 gets beaten by a yugo

But seriously I would prefer the evo MR version in graphite

before, i would take the sti, but now the evo has grown on me. so i would go ahead with the evo. but out of all awd cars for 30k, i would definitely look at the g35.

Lovin the stats! the fastest 0-60 car ever made was a 1994 Dauer 962 Le mans and it does it in 2.6...the 0-60's are something like 5s for the evo, and 4.6 for the Sti.....I personally would take the evo MR but thats pure opinion... I like the styling, and performance numbers... C&D said the evo vs sti ends up on personal preference...but the R32 isn't up there (though its nice)

Im still waiting for the evo to come to Canada...but thats not happening soon

Re: AWD performance comparo for 30K

I'd take the Evo MR if it was a no-strings-attached fantasyland comparo, but in reality, Mitsubishi has spotty reliability and the Evo MR is a little lacking on feature content, so I'd go with the STi.

I could possible understand if some of those stats were supposed to be in 0-60 in KPH... But that wouldnt explain the 15.9 for the R32.

Im probably the only person that will say this, but I like the R32. I know that Stock v Stock, it will get beat by the Evo or STi, but I've recently seen a turbo R32 walk away from slightly modded Evos and STis. Im much more into the german car thing though. Strictly stock, EVO < STi < EVO MR. The Evo and STi are just too close in all performance stats its not funny.

I hear ya Dinan, the VR6 is a potent motor. I'd take the STi more because of its heritage and styling than its performance.

Re: AWD performance comparo for 30K

Well, I love the STi and Evo and hate them at the same time. No doubt they are fast and they are quite simply mind blowing, but they are both so ugly! The wings and bodykits look like Mitsubishi/Subaru didn't even TRY to set them apart from the bread and butter Lancers/Impreza's, they just read "Max Power" and though "Aaaaaaayyyy". I like the R32's wider stance and be-spoilered look and it gives plenty of performance, if slighty short of the Evo and STi.

So I'd take the R32, out of principle. Or an Evo VIII RS, if I was going onto the gravel.

Re:

A used Vr4

But then it's awesome looking... :P

Oh and that's a perfectly believeable 0-60 for the sti... If it's launched with a Aircraft carrier catapult maybe.
