What octane gas should I use in my skyline?

I have a 1989 skyline R32 gts-t type M and I was wondering what kind of octane gas I should use? I live in calgary so the highest i can get here is 93 i think. Also if you are supposed to use a 96oct. for example and I use a 93 will it hurt my engian or will i just get bad millage?

You could use 91, with stock boost and still have no problems. I use 90 in my GTR, and she likes it fine as long as I have my boost controller set to .6 bar.

Re: What octane gas should I use in my skyline?

They are designed to run 100 Octane fuel as used in Japan. I use 98 octane (which is the highest we have) running 1 bar and it seems ok. You could get a lot of pinging on such low octane. If the highest octane you have there is 93, I would suggest using an octane booster. It will run a lot better and stop detonation.

They calculate the octanes differenlty in the States. Our 93 would be like your 98.

A boost controller.

If your stock, your only at .7bar, so you will be fine with 93octane

What octane booster works best if anyone knows? (Yeah I'm in the US) I'm hoping to have my R33 here in november, I'm considering (after reading this) going to the drag strip one weekend with gas cans and fillin them up with 116 lol That's a bit much, plus the price

Peace!
