2004 Chevy Tahoe Service Tire Monitor Warning

Hi,

I have recently put new rims and tires on my Tahoe. Now I get a Service Tire Monitor warning light and want to know if anyone knows how to reset it. I had my oil changed a few days ago at my dealer and the service guy was nice enough to do some type of turning the ignition key and pressing on the gas pedal procedure to make that warning light go off. Unfortunately it only lasted a couple days and it didnt work,..anyone ever heard or know how to reset this service tire monitor warning light junk and keep it off for good?? Thanks for your time,..

The Tahoe is set up with a tire pressure warning device. The sensors for this system are part of the valve assembly on the wheel. If the new wheels do not have the sensors in the valves, the system will keep going off because it is not getting a signal from the wheels. The shop who sold you the wheels should have taken the factory valves/sensors out of the wheels and put them in the new wheels before mounting the tires on them. All of the wheels we have for the new Tahoes will work with the factory sensors/valves. I'd be headed back to the shop who sold you this package without switching out the sensors. They've disabled an important safety feature of the vehicle. I'm amazed they didn't warn you about this.

High Lady Tahoe, I have a 2004 Tahoe that is now displaying the Service Tire Monitor Warning and I read the response to your concern. Unfortunately, I am having the same problem. I had one tire changed about a month ago and now that warning light keeps coming on. Did you ever get your problem solve, if so what did you do.

Iwould like to know if you can just turn this off (service tire monitor ) as I have after narket wheels and can live without this

Does anyone know yet how to disable the tire warning feature? Ive been trying to do it for years so please post if you know.

Service Tire Monitor Reset
This will also work for 2005 Chev Tahoe please follow these steps:
1) set park brakes
2) turn ignition to on, but not running
3) turn light switch to off then to lights on four times quickly all in a row
you should hear the horn beep two times, if so go to next step.
4) with ignition still on go out to each tire and let out the air quickly until
you hear the horn beep once. This should happen with each tire.
5) after horn beeps for all the tires turn the ignition off
6) inflate tires to recommended tire pressure
7) complete head ache gone
