You will need an APEX'i SAFC II or an HKS SAFR properly installed to dyno tune the car. With tuning those, Air/Fuel ratios are properly set for maximum horsepower gain.
Check the following link for PA dyno's. Also, search on Yahoo and Google for Pennsylvania Dyno.
why do you have to have a safc? I mean, what does it do to help out with the headers. I kinda know what the safc does but what does it help with headers?
-thanks
you would probably want to go to the other eclipse forum for that question. the other forum is for the first and second generation eclipses, such as a laser
If you do not have an SAFC/SAFR and put headers on the car, the ECU will throw an SES light and your power gains will be minimal. Please, when modding your car for power, do not go cheap. Power costs money, plain and simple. Do it right the first time.
I totally understand. you go cheap and that's exactly what you get....cheap crap. but thanks for the explanation. I found out the other day that a buddy of mine has a safc that he used when he turboed his galant. So I think that I'll try and pick that up. Am I going to need any kind of adapter kit or anything like that for the install?
-thanks
