average weight of rims

i was thinking about getting some rims and i was wondering what the average weight of say a 16 inch rim would be or what weight i should look for? i saw some that i liked that were 22 pounds. is that good, bad, ok? thanks

22lbs is about average I would say. Maybe a bit on the heavy side. If you can get about 1lb per inch, you're doing okay as far as weight to size. What rims exactly were you looking at?

It's all personal preferance when it comes to wheel design. What looks good to one, might not to another.

22 is like said above, on the heavier side for"16's. I'd say if it's under 20 pounds, then you're alright. I'm getting some "16's reall soon here that only weigh 14.5 pounds per wheel, now that's pretty light!

What do you have now for rims? Using our car, the stock rims on the RSX-s weigh 16# for a 16"X6.5" rim, the stock tire the combination weighs ~38#. I went to a 17"X7.5" rim that weighs 16# and my 225/45/ZR17 tires brought the combination to ~38#, or a little less, that was the weight of the tire, rim, lug nuts, and balancing weights.

i found out that those rims on that link are 17 or 18 #s. so i thought that was pretty good. thanks for your help guys.
