Re: late model SS

no it never done it before. it was bored over and
had the stroker kit put in. we changed injectors
and had a hypertec chip put in the computer.
then when we fired it up it had a small miss.
you cant really notice it, but i know its there.
the lobe lift for the cam is .335"/.340"
the valve lift is .503"/.510"

Re: late model SS

they thought it would be funny to call me (" im at work right now too" ) and say that they knocked my ss out of gear and that it rolled out of the drive
way and stopped in the middle if the road and was then broadsided by a 18 wheeler. and it flipped
on its top in the ditch. i told them i was leaving work and they had better get a GD passport and
leave the country cause i was going to kill them
when i got there. i almost had a heart attack,
they started , just kidding, just kidding man just calm down. you dont call some one up and say hey,
i knocked your 26,000 dallar car out of gear and it was hit by a big truck and is now destroyed. i get
off work in 45 minutes and there better not be a
scratch on that car. i worked my ass off for that
car.

Re: late model SS

slp made a 2 on the left (2OTL), not a single on the left. it was optional over the standard dual exhaust (which was just the Z28 muffler and stainless/chrome tips).

I have seen an SS with a single exhaust.I forget which year it was. Hopefully someone else remembers too.

Re: Re: late model SS

Deadcarny you are wrong... Yes SLP made the 2 on the left, but it was only on the 96 and 97 SS's. 98 had the one on the left exhaust. It was their standard exhaust unless you ordered the dual exhaust which was one one left and one on the right. If you want a picture I will send you one. We have a completly stock 98 SS with the one on the left exhaust.

Re: late model SS

really? If i am wrong, I will admit it. I just do not understand how a standard exhaust on the SS would be a single, when GM builds the LS1 SS on the same line as the Z28. They do not go to SLP unless the car is ordered with special SLP options.

Here is a picture of both a 96 and 98 SS together notice the 98 SS exhaust is one pipe on the left and the 96 SS has two.

Re: late model SS

I sent Dave at SLP an Email to see what he says. You may be correct, so I want to know for sure so I do not look like a dummy if I quote you on it someday...LOL.

Re: late model SS

Got a response from Dave.... I apologize, because I was wrong. As per Dave, 1998 was the only year that the SS came with a Single on the left. It was the Base SS exhaust.

96CamaroSS, thank you for the new info!

Re: Re: late model SS

No problem... Having 5 SS camaros in within our family helps. You never know what you may learn, because SLP did a lot of strange things within the 7 years of making the SS's.
