Car won't start - below freezing temperatures
My car (2001 Galant ES) won't start ... after a 400-mile round trip this weekend it sat outside for about a day and a half and here in Baltimore we've had below freezing temperatures (in the teens and low twenties). Tonight it is freezing rain and snow. Wonderful.
Anyway, the car wouldn't start this afternoon --- interior lights worked, fan blew weakly, but I got little response from trying to start the engine .. just that sad clicking sound, which petered out after a few seconds. Owner's manual isn't too helpful (step on accelerator while turning ignotion on). I have done some research and am still unsure whether there is a common or quick(-ish) fix, or do I just have to wait until the temperature rises to above freezing and get it jumped? The car was inspected 2 weeks ago and passed inspection. I am not well-versed in automotive lingo, so I'd have to look up info on specs if that's relevant. Um, the car is silver (gray after alll this %#&^$ weather), does that help? Thanks. |
