Re: STi vs 5.0 mustang GT
Depends on what the 5.0's got in it. You know, what's the compression, is he usin a high lift cam, what kinda gear ratios out back, does he just have a ford hi-po intake, or the GT-40 engine package, what kinda rubber does he have out back, and how good is he on the stick. It all makes a difference. He could just have a little chrome and a bunch of shit. Or he could be packin a 450 horse street beast and ain't lettin on. Who knows.

Re: STi vs 5.0 mustang GT
I'll put it to you this way: give me an old five oh mustang for two grand and then the rest of the cost of the STi, and I'll build you a car that will murder an STi in road course, drag, and 0-60 with horses to spare. Without nitrous too. It isn't difficult. The aftermarket parts selection for a five oh is ungodly. AND it doesn't take a rocket scientist to build.

Re: STi vs 5.0 mustang GT
Well, yeah, for 30 grand you can take pretty much any car and make it beat a stock new car for 30 grand.
And I'm betting on the STi, unless the stang has some very serious mods to make up for the launch. That is, if both drivers are equal. If the STi misses a shift, the mustang will take him easily, but besides that...

Re: STi vs 5.0 mustang GT
GVWR isnt the weight of the vehicle. I think its how much weight you can have in the car
If the STi owner doesnt launch right, the 5.0 will take it especially since the STi owner has only been driving manual for a month? If the STi launches right, then the Stang will have to play catch up.
From a roll, bye-bye STi.
Theres your answer, now close
