Alright; it was a 1970 Dodge Challenger. Not much of a sleeper except he had 340 badges on it. Too bad it was far too loud to be a 340. When the guy took off at the light all I could think was that it wasn't street legal. Talked to him later and it wasn't. He had a twin supercharged 528 Hemi under the hood. The body was custom made and a lot lighter than the original. He had a lot of frame and suspension work done as well. I looked the car over and the guy must have been rich. Not too much of a sleeper but a hell of a lot more than I was expecting.

The Plymouth Laser could be had with Turbo and AWD. Why bother with the swap? Also it didn't look much different from the same year Talons and Eclipse. They are the same exact cars. Also, DSMs are NOT sleepers. Some people even think that the new Eclipse is fast.

Just my personal opinion but I think a sleeper should not look at all fast, and should look 100% stock. I saw a old beat up buick on the highway the guy was doing the speed limit until this camry kept trying to cut him off than he floored it and I don't know what he was running under there but he took off like no one's business.

This is probably a Noob question but how do you twin supercharge a motor? Two throttle bodies? I've never heard of that before...
Please. Enlighten me.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Best Sleepers
To me any more the best sleeper would be a car with all the body kits and paint jobs done to it .. cuz for me .. when i see car slow lookn car tryn to race and stuff i just get the vibe that he is sleepn .. but when ever you see alot of the show cars tryn to race .. you think he just some dude that spent all his time and money on his body and and maken his car look like a race car but really aint ..
you see a ton of hondas / acuras and mitu's with body kits that are just slow as hell .. and see mass cars lookn slow . just pulln on people ..
( just some thin i been noticeing more and more .. that what we used to call sleepers we can racers and what we would call racers are sleepers .)

I think a sleeper is a car that you wouldnt think is fast for any reson .. not really a car that is stock and/or a slow stock car LOOKing ..
Sleeping isnt aboutbeing stock .. its more about tricking the other racer .. so really a good sleeper would be some basic car you see with the loudest exhauts you could find and a side mount intercooler and very silent blow off .. and make people think your rideing it hard and be slow .. till you really get on it .. sleeping is about hiding the truth.. just what i think ..lol .. Nissan and mitsu trucks with sr20det or 4g63 swap's ... in a stock lookn truck .. lol

I know back when I had my 2.8 I could pull off a 15.1 in the 1/4 not sure if thats really sleeper status.. but everyone thinks I slapped formula on the side and put rims on my car so I guess you could say mine is..? the look on their faces afterwards is priceless..
A guy's recent attempt in a 3800 Grand Prix.. he just joined the Grand Prix Forum and I noticed he was from alma, the place I live. Anyways I asked him what color it was cause I thought it might've been the one guy that I shocked.
"It's i guess, maple red, is what GM calls it. I'm sure you probably remember my headlights fading in your rearview. haha, ya had me good, nice sleeper."

1989 Delorean with a RB26DETT and a larger turbo upgrade with Mines ECU and boost it and when you win..tell them your flux capacitor gives you 200 more horsepower..lol

No need for the sr20 in the 323 they a GTX model which was basically turbo'd and awd made like 140-160 hp if I'm not mistaken and they can handle some good amounts of boost I've seen some with about 300hp.

Or just get a Turbo motor from a 700 or 900 series they can handle quite a bit of boost and in doing so you wouldn't get all the extra weight from the v8 and just keep the 4 cyl.

Riiiiiighhhht
The only way you'll ever get a Jeep Cherokee into 13's or even more unhead of 12's would be to supercharge a 360 and toss it in there and strip the interior and you might hit 12's. And just to go off some evidence a Viper GTS runs the 1/4 at about 12.9 - 13.5 with a good driver.
