forgive me for asking but why does the spec v not have top end power like the celica gts and the rsx type s????
i would assume that the continous variable valve timing would help it achieve low and top end
but that's just my assumption
please correct me if I am wrong...

Re: Buying a Spec V

it's just not built the same. It has to do with every aspect of the engine, they built the qr25 to have lots of low end power so they could stick it in the heavy altima and be set. Then they decided to bring back the SE-R badge for the sentra and they simply put the qr25 in it because it was a nice fit. The bore/stroke, cam degree, timing, everything was set up for low end power.

Re: Buying a Spec V

what do you mean which engine has high end power?
lots of engines have high end power, mostly honda, but lots of others do too. The mazda rotary has a lot of hp and not much tq, but it's for a completely different reason.

top speed of the spec is around 135ish

Re: Buying a Spec V

hell if I know...lol

there are too many to think back to the one with the highest redline. If I were to guess anything I'd say the b13-b14 se-r with the non-rr sr20. I think it had a rev limit of 7500rpm but I could be wrong.
