Re: noisy at morning startup

Guys.. .my 99 Passat does the strange things in the mornings.. first it takes almost 10-15 seconds worth cranking during which I can hear all kind of strange sounds.. then during idling my rpm goes high upto 2000 stays there for a while and then comes down to 900.. its really scary. I ekkp on doing the regular oil changes. I have done my engine flushing also due to some oil residues issue.. Can anyone help me out with these issues? How to correct it.. or how dangerous it is for the car???

Re: noisy at morning startup

The 1.8 L Engine Uses What Is Called A Cam Chain Tensioner Or A Cam Chain Adjuster, Depending On What Year Your Vehicle Is.
The Adjuster/tensioner Is Located At The Back Of The Cylinder Head Part Of It Sticks Out From Under The Cylinder Head Cover. There Will Be A Connector Conected To It If It Is A Cam Chain Adjuster. It Used Engine Oil Pressure To Pump Up The Lifter Inside The Tensioner And Ecm Controled If It Is An Adjuster For The Cam Timing. And Yes This Is A Common Concern For Noise Due To This Tensioner/adjuster.
