You'll never go wrong with any Buick. I own a '70 GSX Stage 1 with a 4-speed that will pin you to the seat when you step on the gas. I also own a '72 GS350. It doesn't pin you to the seat but it has over 300,000 miles and I use it everyday.
Buick's are great muscle cars. No matter how badly you beat them they keep right on running and running fast.

Re: 1970 buick GSX
I have a 69 Buick Wildcat with a 430-4, i agree that there is nothing like the 60s cars. My car is also #s matching as a car i was reading about on here... I'd love a GS or GSX but i think i like my Wildcat. I'd like to find a 65 or a 66 Wildcat, or a 67 GS. I'd take my Wildcat or anyother Buick over a Plymouth or Dodge anyday.

Re: 1970 buick GSX
Buicks engines were always known for their durability and torque. You can't go wrong with any Buick V8.

its nice to see other buick owners, i am 18 and am currently high p[erformanceing my 68 buick gs 350, im boring it to 40 over and everything is brand spanking new except the crank which has been polished, the block and the head which have been ported and polished, and the rods. parts are so hard to find, well they are pricey. i am getting a high volume oil pump because i heard it has a crappy one.
i need help getting more power to the wheels and also do i need a new transmission and/or torque converter?

I've got a '71 GSX.A red one,with all the goodies except air and the 4-gear.Yes,it's a real one,so don't ask.
Just out of curiosity, anyone here ever race their car at a track?I ran mine a few times and got surprising numbers, and on tearing it down for a refresh found everything stock. It's the low-compression 455 Stage 1,stock iron intake,Q-Jet,etc.After putting it back together the damn thing ran a 13.92 @ 98.22,a time I found somewhat remarkable.(only modification-a Pertronix ignitor.Love those things...)

yes i have a 72 buick gsx clone 455 - i ran it at the track once - since i have 3 1/2 in exhaust - i could not fit slicks on the car - i couldn't launch the beast - i ran 13.27 at 105 MPH - if i could get slicks on it it believe i would be in the 12's no problem - email me for pics if interested - thanks kevin
