Get your head out of your ass. It is running mid 10 second quarter miles now, without gigantic turbos. They are small and subtle, which is what the owner wanted. Shitty little nitto tires on stock wheels, and automatic transmissions will also keep the time down. he also has a full interior with a/c. the owner built this car to be a sleeper, which is precisely what it is. imagine popping the hood of an opponents car and seeing a small turbo and no intercooler. easy win you think to yourself, when in fact you have no idea how bad your ass is going to be handed to you. It is the definition of "street-sleeper".

And putting other tib owners to shame, what a moron. watch the video of the burnout and then tell me what you think of it.

Ok i guess you didn't seem to understand what I was trying to say, though I don't think you give a damn since we are both biased to our own ways. You own/like the tib, I never own/will never own and dislike the tib/Hundai til i puke. Being said that, let me tell you what i think without trying to be rude...

Cars in most people's mind have only 1 engine. It's the logical way most people think... Now if this owner puts 2 with turbo in tib, that's fine cause its his car and his project. I think he's giving this car alot of time and money and I respect that. But what I thought was "Ok to make this tib run good as supra/rx7/skyline.....or american cars, it has to put 2 engines with 2 turbos that ran with jet fuel??" was my honest reaction. Supras can reach that 10 sec without much problem on auto tranny nevermind adding another engine.

That's just 1 example of what made me feel that way after reading an article. Being honest I try my hardest not to laugh since i was in DMV reading them. But like i said, much props to the owner, but I'd feel ashamed if i was owing the same type of car as he was cause in my mind that's kinda cheating to make cars faster. But like i said earlier, we all have our own definition to modifing cars. I would try to mod the best out of 1 engine, that's my way of taking a challenge. I would never try to add another engine and turbo that runs on jet fuel. That's my definition.

I really do hate hyundai, but when people do awsome mod to a car I do have that silent "respect"no matter how much I hate that paricular car. I do awknoledge how much effort and money it took for this owner to make that car, so props....but you saw what i wrote. Now I am not going to argue or get convinced that hyundai's are great cause they aren't and will never be in my mind. I know that are growing but like someone said "New tib is being compared to skyline" Please, do a reality check. I won't try to bash much Hyundai as long as there's people not saying such idiotic things.

its the whole point of what he was doing though. the supra is obviously faster off of one engine and could smoke a tib, but it costs four times as much new. he was making a stelathy car though. everyone knows supra's are fast as shit, and would prolly not want to race one. but you see a tiburon and you say to yourself "peice of shit" and so would prolly race it. this guy added a second engine putting a black peice of plexiglass in place of the rear window to conceal it. the whole point of this project was to make a car really, really fast without showing it. i think they accomplished that and then some more. now stick in manual transmissions, gut the interior, put big turbos on it, and slap some slicks on it with light wheels, and your breaking atleast into the 9 second quarters, which is very tough to get, even for supras. getting that tib into the 9's would also be cheaper than getting a supra into the 9's. there are currently single engine tibs in korea pushing 600whp, which shows the capabilities of the beta engine. you may think its cheating, but then you could kinda call having a v-8 cheating, as it has just as many components of the twin engine tib. i say there is no cheating in making a car fast, besides spending assloads of money because that can obviously get your car fast.

as for the new tib, it is nowhere near the level of the skyline, and will never be. the main cap bolts are not held in tightly, and the bottom of the block blows apart. those bolts have a torque specification of 12 lbs./ft., which is about the same as a screw on your dashboard. after 250hp, they snap. some say its cause the threaded sections in the block itself are not strong enough to hold the bolts in, and the bolts just rip out. (if you want more info read this http://www.hyundaiaftermarket.com/cg...;f=39;t=000260) good stock power over the beta, but cant take anywhere near the power the beta can. so please dont base your opinions of hyundai on people that dont know what they are talking about.

whatever though, "to each his own" is one of my favorite sayings.you dont have to like hyundai, just trying to find some reason for it. just download the video, you may gain a little more respect for our korean cars.

Re: is there a point? really?

I love my Tibby; and after owning a Fiero for over 10 years; believe me, I know what really is a turkey POS.

Re: is there a point? really?

I thought that Fiero was the coolest looking car I'd ever seen; but it was a turkey, so what the hell; I hung onto my 1982 Fiero but had to get rid of it finally; got too much to maintain.

I hope I do NOT have the same circumstances with the Tibby....we shall see.

The mid engine on the Fiero was a bad idea, in retrospect.
