Porsche 356A 1500 GS Speedster

Ok guys, here's my next project. The Fujimi Porsche 356A 1500 GS Speedster:

This model should be a pleasure to build I think. I never build an EM kit before so this will be my first experience. I really love this car and this time I'll keep it stock with maybe some extra detailing for the engine and interior.

I will paint it Silver as the reference pics I found on the internet.

Re: Porsche 356A 1500 GS Speedster

Finally I had some time to work further on this nice model.

First I sanded the moldlines and primered the body:

Than I painted the body with AstralSilver from Mercedes-Benz. It's a very fine metallic silver which suits the old Porsche very well.

After that I clearcoated the body with Sikkens 2K Clear. Now it's very shiny and I love the result. As some of you know, silver is a very difficult paint!

That paint has layed down really well. Silver is well known to be one of the hardest colors to apply.

Excellent so far. I already built this one and if you like can look for it on my profile for any idea it can give you or just to see how some parts will look. Be ready to work hard with this EM series...Keep us updated!

Nice paint! I usually shy away from automotive metallics but, like you said, that flake is totally scale. BTW, check the windshield in your kit. The tool has a reputation for leaving cold seams right in the middle.

Nice paint job. Did you get the mercedes silver from zero paints too? Or did you order as a touch up bottle from another supplier? I'd be interested in purchasing some.

No it's not zero paints. It-s Sikkens waterbased automotive paint. I got it from a friend that works in a car body shop. Mayve a local body shop can help you with this kind of paints?
