98 S-10 electrical problem

I have a 98 s-10 2.2. The first prob I had was the wires to the crankshaft/camshaft sensors were exposed and killing the engine. Truck would run until wires touched. We spliced the wires to a new plug and now truck wont start. When I turn the key, I cant hear fuel pump come on. Truck acts like it wants to start but like I said, the fuel pump is not kicking on. I replced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay. Still nothing. I replaced the ecm and the whole fuse box center under hood. Still nothing. Why would an exposed wire we spliced and fixed kill the whole truck. Im out a lot of money already, need help fixing this damn thing please

the sensor wires being open will not prevent the fuel pump operation with the ignition on engine off for a 2 sec. period.

cycle the key to ignition on , and check for voltage at the relay/fuel pump.

you could have bad fuse /fuse socket/grounds open.

it is possible that the PCM/computer is damaged. with a voltmeter check for the proper feeds/grounds/fuses etc. no test lights!
