Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
hello,
I would like to present you a new compagny, Simil'R, created by two French friends. Their first kit was the Ford Focus. It's a very beautiful one: To be known, Simil'R decided to create, with a association with Profil24 and cartograf, eight building models of the Aston VDS Kronos which took part to 24h du Mans 2011 and finished sixth of the race. All models have been offered to engineers, drivers and Marc VDS the team boss. I've built two models: Bodies were painted by profil24: The seat with seatbelts: Wheels in TS42: The interior body in black: The decals have been drawn by Simil'R and printed by Cartograf: The dashboard: The body with decals: With gold bare metal: Nearly the end: AND THE END And the final setting: And now the models are offered to the VDS team during the "24h of Spa": Bas Leinders Sébastien Metz (engineer) Jean-Michel Delporte, the team manager. And one model has been offered to Vanina and Jacky Ickx. |

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
Very nice kits and a great build. I am trying my best to talk the people I know in the USA into distributing these plastic kits over here. A vintage racecar would also be great, but I like both old and new.

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
You did a fantastic job on the Aston! Congrats on the "big build"!
I'm waiting for that GT though! It looks incredible. Good time to be a model builder! Thanks for passing along the information... Erick -- |

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
Hi,
I bought the Aston Martin model last month from Profil24 because they made 10 extra kits for the costumers, very limited kit !!!! Your pictures are very interesting because I have still to complete my kit, because I modified a lot of parts, as you can see on my WIP thread. Congratulations Andrea Steven |

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
Great builds and what an amazing opportunity to be part of such an awesome experience. If they released that Kronos at the price of the Focus, I would be all over it. The rally cars and GT don't interest me, but the Kronos does.

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
The paint is not mentioned in any of their materials. Not on the website, not in the newsletter, not on any of the pre-order dealer pages. I am guessing that the paint will not be included in the box but it is available separately. I am thinking it was included due to your special relationship with Simil'R.

Your Ford GT design looks very good very wheel done...
Did you add any decals to your GT?

Re: Ford GT Matech Simil'R and Aston VDS
great build on the aston.
I know many italian company did the same..with Joest team and dindo capello but keeping gifts in 1/43 scale. All pilots love theme. Nice models are nice models, for all. About similR: I am also very interested in the new ford gt.The question is only about the fitting of the parts cause from all your pictures seems the body is completely divided in small parts. This can be a problem in giving the final and correct shape to the model (problem u will never have with curbside models as profil24 ones). The Focus WRC was a very nice subject, unfortunately at today seems nobody is able to close it well and to give the correctshape to the car, even more if u want to build it with closed doors. And that is anyway a rally car, so less curved and sexy than a Gt's. I also bought the Focus, and it seems to me they probably want to make a "super kit".My dry fitting test was terribly bad.Hope is only my unlucky box, even if other modellers with this kit said the same. Just I hope the Ford gt will be better, also cause I absolutely want to buy one.
