1994 Chevrolet S10 Starting and running issues
Hello ill start off by telling a what I know about the issues before the car stopped operating. First of all the car has sat for about 5 months in western washington so it is very wet out here. Before it sat and the reason it was left to sit, was there was a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Water coming out behind the exhaust manifold by the block. It was hard to keep it going and started when you took your foot off the gas it would die.
So fast forward a few months of it sitting outside to now. I can not get the car to start at all. I want to get some ideas on what it would take to fix or at least temp fix to keep it running. Also a little more history that might help a year ago we replaced the whole top end of the vehicle, catilitic converter (sorry if spelled wrong). I have been told already to check the fuel and spark to the engine to see if it will get running and thats what im working on now. Any other help will be appreciated. |

Welcome to the forum!
If it's been sitting for 5 months with fuel in the fuel tank, that fuel is probably not much good anymore. Checking for spark and fuel supply are definitely places to start. You could also pull the spark plugs and inspect them for signs either of unburned fuel (could indicate bad fuel) or coolant. -Rod |

Re: 1994 Chevrolet S10 Starting and running issues
So i pulled the spark plugs to clean them off. When i got to the last one when i pulled it out there was a very large pool of oil to the point when i lifted the spark plug in the air it ran off of it. I would imagine thats a tell tole sign of something?

Oil-fouled plugs are a sign that your valve stem seals are leaking. Not a hard job, but does take time and a few special tools.
