Unhappy Battery cables installed reversed .... what damage did I do ??

Well, I'm not familiar with Honda's and I reversed the cables (pos. cable on neg. terminal & neg. cable on pos. terminal) when I installed another battery on the car. The car was barely starting and I did have power, but it needs a new battery, so I tried to replace the original battery with another used one.

Now I get no power at all ... no dash signals, lights, etc. .... Nothing at all when I turn the key.

What did I damage ??? (fuse, computer .... ????)

Any help would be appreciated.

You don't say what year Honda you have but most have a 80 amp main fuse inside the engine compartmemt on the right side near the firewall (main fuse box). If the fuse went first maybe just the fuse other wise the alternator and possibly the computer, wiring etc..

I would check the main fuse as well for starters.

thanks folks,

It was the 80 amp fuse that was broken and I replaced it and everything is working again.

thanks again for steering me in the right direction.
