Oil Substance in wheel well

I just replaced the front brake pads on my 2001 Rodeo. The other day I noticed what looked like a wet wheel well but no puddles or water anywhere. So i touched it and it was oily. First thing I thought of was there must be a crack in the brake line and the oily stuff was brake fluid, but after closer inspection, brake line looks good and there isn't any oily stuff on the wheel or rim. Transmission, oil and brake fluid levels look good. I'm lost as to what it may be. Has someone experienced this before or may have ideas of what it may be. By the way it's the front driver side wheel well. Thanks

Re: Oil Substance in wheel well

When I change my oil, the oil likes to splash up on that wheel after it hits my drain pan.

My guess is that is what it is from ... if you have the oil changed at a quicky place they may of not of wiped it down very well.
