Re: 1995 s-10
Do a wet and dry compression test and post the results of both.

Re: 1995 s-10
frst let me tell you what he has replaced ecm module, coilpack, plugs, plug wires, gas fillter, and he sais it has a short it drains battery in 2 day's of setting. ok never heard of this but tries if take 1 plug out and it don't matter wich plug ground it to moter it will run but runs like crap with 1 cylender all open. ok you can spray all the starting fluid you want and it will not fire. man this got me unless computer shot something telling it not to get gas. so what you say way?

Re: 1995 s-10
Read your other thread/post. I'd combine the two. the batter draining issue in the other could be of relivance.
What started all this??? If I were to take a guess, a "tune up"? |

Re: 1995 s-10
his grandson wrecked the s-10 and bent tierods he fixed that. then he got to the starting part and it wouldn't start at all so he bought the module and it never fixed it so he put coilpack on never worked so then he went and replaced plugs, wires, gas filter, fuelpump brain box still no start. now here's the tricky part when you take a plug out and ground it to moter it will run on 3 cyl. but you put it back in it will not start you can spray starting fluid in throttle body because it's a multiport fuel inj. and it wont even fire. he needs help bad before it sets it on fire. so what would you do next?

Re: 1995 s-10
I'm wondering if one of the engine ground straps is snapped as a result of the wreck and the "grounded" plug is actually acting as a missing ground for the ignition system? makes some sense

Re: 1995 s-10
See post #3, could very well be a broken valve spring. Pull all the plugs, prop the throttle open, disable the ignition, install the compression tester and crank the engine through 4 compression cycles and write down the results, do this on each cylinder. Then add a couple of tablespoons of oil to each cylinder and run the test again, write down the results and post them.
