95 Jimmy starts, dies, misses,
4.3 Vortec W 4wd SLE auto trans.
Will start then die, wont start again for a few minutes. When it does start sometimes it runs good for a while then starts missing and then clears up. Next day same thing all over again. Has gotten worse, harder to start and rougher running. Replaced: Fuel pump, (delco) fuel filter, fuel injection spider assembly, distributor, cap, rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, Coil, ignition module, battery, crankshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor, new air cleaner, cleaned idle air control valve. Gets fire, gets gas, timing is right, Key on Fuel pressure 66 psi after 5 min of key off 57 psi. No Codes. no ses light. Someone please help! I am going nuts trying to get this thing to run. Decided to bite the bullet and have it towed to the Chevy dealer, Mr Goodwrench found an intermittent short in the fuel injector harness. Found out that that is a common problem. Opted to repair it myself. Cost for towing to and from $50 Cost for analyzing $85 Repaired the harness myself for $19.95 Total $154.95 Cost of all the unnecessary repairs trying to avoid going to a dealer. $2500.00+ Last edited by Goodyguy; 07-23-2010 at 07:05 AM.
