Dome Light & Radio Dead?

No it doesn't appear to be a fuse!

98 Dodge Ram 1500

The Glove Compartment Light broke loose and shorted out, the Radio and Dome lights also went out when this happened. No problem right... I just disconnected the Glove Compartment Light (never use it anyway). Then went to check fuses (in side and under the hood) - but they are all fine! I went over them a second time replacing them with new fuses just to be sure, but they look fine? Note, there were a few bigger fuses under the hood. I didn't check them becasue I didn't have a spare, but they seemed to be for bigger items (blower, etc).

Would anybody know what is going on?

Re: Dome Light & Radio Dead?

It turned out to be a 10AMP fuse (Labeled IOD I believe). It's one of those protected fuses with this black covers. I orginally didn't check that one or the air bag ones.

I Also Came Across A 20a Fuse In The Engine Compartment That Has A Faulty Circuit. Can You Tell Me Or Anyone Out There What This Acronym Stands For?

It probably covers those components that operate even with the key off (dome lights, headlights, cigarette lighter, etc.).

Re: Dome Light & Radio Dead?

Whoever posted this thank you, you just saved me 200$ that a repair shop was trying to charge me for a complete electrical system overhaul.
