Re: Lack of fuel pressure

Buy a about 4 feet of grease gun line extensions & fittings, a needle valve and a 0-30psi pressure gauge. Seal the connections with permatex non-hardening sealer then start yer pump.

Here's my cheapo getup,

Greasegun extension leaving the Vulcan fitting tapped for the guage.

Needle valve for damping pressure pulses to calm the gauge needle.

It ain't pretty but this dog hunts and he don't leak.

The whole contraption using the fuel pressure check kit to screw onto the port on the injector pump and later I added needle valve to dampen the pressure pulses.

Re: Lack of fuel pressure

Awesome thank you. It will be a bit before I have time to do it but I'm sure it will be well worth the time and effort.

Re: Lack of fuel pressure

This has nothing to do with what we were talking about, but my last exhuast hanger finally rusted through and I was dragging my exhuast down the road. I cut off all the rusted pieces between the cat and muffler. I want to put on a deep note muffler and dont know which to buy. Should I take the cat off then put the new muffler there or after the cat. I dont want a super loud exhuast but I want the deepest note possible. Thoughts?

Re: Lack of fuel pressure

The 2000 Dodge Ram w/Cummins Diesel did not come with a catalytic converter as far as I know. You might have a muffler and resonator on your exhaust.
I don't know how to deepen the exhaust tone....sorry pal.

Re: Lack of fuel pressure

Your right it ended up being a resonator. Looked like a cat till I started looking more closely. That poor old pickup finally gave out. It did good with the new lift pump till I pulled my trailer with 5 cows. Did great till I got to a hill then lost all power and died. Had to get a tow, mechanic said total rebuild to get the poor old thing going again. Ended up trading it for a 08 Cummins. It was a sad day. But I have to say that 6.7 is insane. Hope they're as reliable as that old 5.9 was.

Re: Lack of fuel pressure

Yup, I understand the 6.7's are torque monsters.
