Re: Just joined the Miata gang
Congratulations! They are great cars that always attract attention as you buzz down the road. Miatas are one of those cars that just about everyone wishes they had but never had the guts or opportunity to purchase. I've had a 1999 for several years and still love it as much as the day I bought it. Take care of it and it will last a long, long time.

Re: Just joined the Miata gang
Yeah, I got my '97 about 3 years ago and am loving every bit of it. I've got 202,xxx miles on it and all i've had to do to it (besides brakes, tires, wipers, basic stuff) is change the clutch slave cylinder, which was an easy fix and the part only costed me $16.
Very fun and very reliable cars, as long as you're treating it like a lady.

I also have a 97, and I think the last year is the best year for the NA. Here's an iPhone Pic

Re: Just joined the Miata gang
Well a little late to say welcome aboard .Glad all of you are enjoying your miatas
A word of caution is keep an eye on the temp gage, the miata can over heat quickly and ruin an engine or at the very least a head If your radiator tank has turned green or a brownish color give a lot of thought about changing it out with a new one. The plastic tank goes to getting hard and brittle and a leak can come at anytime and usually at the most inconvient time I read an article wish I could find it about using water wetter type products with the orange or pink coolants it says they react aganist one another

Re: Just joined the Miata gang
I enjoy Miatas to their fullest. A couple of my friends used to bust my chops but now they own them too! I have owned one for 6 years but I am on my 9th one in 14 months as I clean them up and move them to fund my big toy... 1990 Miata with an LS-1 and six speed! It should be running within the month so look for pics soon.
My Daily Driver is a 94 M edition with an auto. They are fun to drive, cheep to fix and easy to work on. I can do a clutch in 3 hours, a replacement top in 4, and I have yet to spend more than $250 on a single repair. Take your new one out and enjoy it! Find a local club and join so you can cruise with other owners.... |

Re: Just joined the Miata gang
Great to see you all so in love with your Miatas, I also recommend joining a dedicated Miata forum like Miata.net, Clubroadster.net, Miataturbo.net. This one doesn't seem to get much activity. Sad.
