1999 Grand Am won't start
I am new to the forum and have been reading the threads and find the information very useful. I recently purchased a 99 Grand Am and shortly after, the service engine light came on. I checked the code with my reader and it came up P0303 for #3 misfire. I erased this code and now the car will not start. It turns over fine and sputters a couple of times but will not start. It is getting fuel and there is spark at the plugs. Please help.

Welcome to AF!!
You didn't say what size engine you have. This sounds like it could be a problem with the ignition module going bad. If it is a 4 it is under the cover on the center section of the engine. If it is a 6 then it should be located under the coils. By clearing the code nothing should have happened that would prevent it from starting. |

Re: 1999 Grand Am won't start
I have the 3.4 v-6. I ended up having it towed into the garage. They found the electrodes on the plugs pretty much gone. They replaced the plugs and cleaned the injectors. Starts fine now. Thanks for the suggestion in case it decides to bet balky again.
