Re: Mclaren Picture+specs

humm,

your performance figures are stranges, for me, itis for the road car :

0 to 100 km/h (62mph) : 3"3
0 to 160 km/h (100mph) : 6"6
0 to 200 km/h (124mph) : 9"4
top speed : 240mph
1/4 mile : 11"1 at 222 km/h
1000 m : 19"6 at 287 km/h (not sure for 287 km/h)

Also 100 to 140 km/h on fifth gear in 3"3 !! It is incredible with the 5th which reach 330 km/h

Re: Mclaren Picture+specs

Hello,

M Power, yes you talk about the LM and I gave you road car figures because they are closer of the road car perfos.

So, for the LM, I red that but it seems to not be tested.
0 to 100 km/h : 3"0
0 to 160 km/h : 5"0
1000 m DA : 19"0
top speed : 360 km/h

For me, the 0 to 160 km/h is a bit optimistic.

Ciao
Phil

Re: Mclaren Picture+specs

Hate to burst bubbles, but from the CAR Magazine test of the LM includes these figures"

0-60mph: 3.9sec
0-100mph: 6.7sec

...and also this quote:

"With the 0-60 and 0-100 times (around 3.9sec and 6.7sec respectively) seeming fairly consistent..."

So, I guess the LM doesn't get off the line nearly as fast as one might expect.* It is quite a bit faster in gear compared to the F1 as this chart shows:

* It should also be noted that the variation in acceleration times off the line could be due to variance in traction provided by the test surface.

The article also mentions that due to the downforce package carried over from the GTR that the LM hits a brick wall at about 190mph and then estimates the top speed at 225mph. Recently while watching the Martin Brundle "Supercars" DVD he is heard to quote the LMs top speed at 217mph I believe.

Still haven't been able to produce a 1/4 mile time for it. I'm not certain it's ever been officially tested though.

Maybe we should ask Mr. Selldorff to test these figures for us.

It's been 50s-60s for the past week here in Massachusetts. Rain and drizzle every day almost. Luckily the downpours held off for the huge Ferrari event that I was at last weekend (http://douging.smugmug.com).

This weekend is supposed to be nice though. It also happens to be the weekend for our touring car race at Lime Rock in Connecticut. [hint]

P.S. - Am I the only person who can say they piloted an LM in the snow?
