Confused about GT's
Are there 3 GT's and 1 prototype of just 3 gt's outright???
I have seen pictures of a metallic purple one, a metallic blue one and a darkish green one while around thread I read here says there is a black one also but no pics have been seen. Thankyou in advance if anyone answers this. I think the F1 is the best car ever but I don't know that much about it yet so I've been reading the threads here to learn more. |

Re: Confused about GT's
There are only 3 F1 GTs - total.
The first was the prototype - 56XPGT - painted Silverstone Green, though much like XP5 (the last road car prototype which is the same color) it can often appear black in photographs. The second was 54F1GT - this car was painted black and is believed to be in the collection of the Sultan of Brunei, hence the lack of photographs. The final car is 58F1GT - painted burgundy. This car is in the collection of a Japanese man who's name remains a mystery. Depending on the calibration of your monitor, the few photos which exist of this car could be thought to be Metallic Purple. I'm not sure about the metallic blue one you are referrencing - possibly that is the Team Carl F1 GTR longtail which might appear to be an F1 GT with a spoiler. This car is one of the '97 long tail GTRs and is not one of the three road going GTs. If you post the photo you are referring to, I'm sure I can confirm it. Edit: Here's a shot of the car I was referring to: My real guess on the metallic purple one you have seen photos of is that it is possibly the 1/12th scale model that was recently showcase in a Japanese modeling magazine. Again, if you post the photo you are referring to, myself or someone else here will be able to set you straight. >8^) ER |

Hey peloton, did you ever send that e-mail to Colin Curwood about which GT was used in the photoshoot?

Re: Confused about GT's
Screen grab from Brundles "Super Cars".
Its an added extra on the DVD which is a tour of the new Mclaren facility where brundles tells you about the F1 road car, LM and GT and also shows you the assembly line of the new SLR. |

Thank you. The blue car I was talking about is the one in that Brundle DVD. It looks blue on my tv. Must just be messed up and it is pretty old. I'm watching that DVD now for like the 20th time.

That photo above is one of the most accurate representations of the color I have seen actually. tvrfreak also took some good photos of that car when he was there at the factory. Let us know if you haven't seen those pictures.
