How heavy can I respring 1500 and not make truck misbehave?
I just bought a 2000 Sierra extended cab with 144K miles. It has a broken spring in the middle of the stack on one side. I would like to upgrade it to higher rating for when I do truckey things like haul a ton of crushed stone for my driveway or haul wood pellets home. I don't take the thing off road except around the property ect just want it to haul more / better since it needs spring work anyways. I had heard it's easy to install a set of 2, 025 lb springs to replace the 1600 lb set that comes on 1500 series stock. Any ideas or considerations/ suggestions before I pull the trigger. I can get the heavy spring set to the door for $360. I'll put heavy duty shocks on later when I get around to it.
