I purchased a used 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport back in August. It has approximately 40,000 miles on it now. It's an AWD model with a CVT. I'm experiencing a very strange issue with it though. After driving up a hill for about a mile or so I start hearing a strange squeaking/chirping noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. The noise only happens after I've been driving uphill for quite some time. After I've driven uphill for some time, I notice this noise happening when I steer to the right and hit bumps. Once the car levels out for some time the noise goes away. I took this vehicle back to the dealer where I purchased it and they did a complete check over the vehicle and weren't able to see anything wrong with it despite being able to reproduce the noise on test drives. If anyone here has any thoughts on what could be causing this noise I'd really appreciate your input. I've spoken to a Mitsubishi dealer and numerous auto parts store people about this issue and nobody has been able to tell me what the cause could be. I've also posted on another forum about this issue
here. I wasn't able to get a resolution there.
Here are some recordings of the noise:
