if u are talking post 00 m roadsters, the m roadster would win

a better comparison would be s52b32 m roadsters vs s2000 . . . 240hp vs 240hp, although the m roadster would still have the advantage of torque, the s2000 might have a better top end . . .

just the fact that a 4 cyllinder engine can keep up with a 6 cyllinder is amazing. the f20 has the highest hp/liter ratio of any production car in the world. 4 cyllinders 240hp vs 6 cyllinder 240? is this comparison fair? How bout comparing the new prototype s2k R with the 6 cyllinder engine. 350NA hp. nuf said. BMWho?

true, the s2000's engine is remarkable at what it can do. but for usable power on the street, i think the M roadster is a far more practical use. you literally have to redline the S2000 and keep it close to redline to get any power out of it. if you can do that on a constant basis, the S2000 is one of the funnest cars on the road, and it is quick if you know how to drive it. but i would put money on the M roadster 9 times out of 10 in real-world situations.

hp per liter looks good only on paper. on the street, it's not much of any use. this is coming from a honda guy. i love the S2000, it's great looking car and it's fun to drive. but it belongs on a race track, and strictly on a race track. for street cars, there are better performers.

What makes you think the s2k will out handle the M Coupe in a 'not as turny course'(roadcourse???) ? The handling abilities of the two should be quite similar, and the s2k should also be less rigid than the M coupe due to the convertable traits. And an oval track? Does the S2k have a lot better top end than the M coupe?? Because an oval track entails pretty much of only top end power. And if you're comparing the most recent s2k to the most recent M coupe.... The s2k would be done for in either scenarios.

fatninja is right. the newest M roadster will rape an s2000. 3.2 I6 with 315hp and 251 lb ft of torque (www.bmwusa.com) vs 2L I4 with 240hp and only 153 lb ft of torque. i think teresaluvr was referring to the older M roadsters.

Would you consider yourselves equal drivers or are you more superior? And are you comparing s2k's to pre or post M Roadsters?

And please excuse my wrong referene to M Coupes.. For some odd reason.. I was thinking about Coupes. My bad.

This comparison is slightly unfair because of different engine sizes. It is like comparing a Viper to a Corvette. But yes I agree with most that the BMW would devour the S2000 like sushi.
