Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!
i'm going with the Z06 on this one too. the new z06 kicks the vipers butt in everyway and it beats the gt40. on top of that its way cheaper.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!
F430. It sounds beautiful, it looks unbelievable, it's without a doubt the best handling car in the world, but it never for a second feels disconnected. The engine has the balls to back up its' wail, it's relatively practical theoretically (Though you wouldn't want to take it through Italian traffic, for the fear of a crazy bastard dinging it), it's beautifully crafted and easy to drive.
Could there be a better car?

Voted for the Viper because I'm a biased Mopar guy. Everything about it hits me the right way.
The Z06 & M5 were very close but I'd take the Viper over both of them so it got the final vote.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!
i used to really like vipers too, but the new z06 romps on it at half the price. i really can't think of any car that runs 11's for 50 grand.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!
i chose the z06 cos it's not the best handling but it beats about half the cars on that list, i would have chosen the viper but i would rather choose it for it's performance rather than the looks and the way it's not as easy to see around as the corvette and i didn'y choose the mustang because my favourite mustangs were always the svt cobras which wasn't produced this year.

I voted for the Corvette Z06. Besides being the best engineered Corvette ever built, I think it is the best-looking Corvette since 1967.
I can hardly wait to see how it does in the FIA GT Championship's new GT3 class next year. |

Tough choices- I vote STI because of my love of powerful, customizable, and dependable turbo Imprezas since 1992. The car has done it's fair share at dominating world rally since then. Subaru really took a gamble by bringing back smaller, affordable, turbocharged cars to the US market in '01 with the '02 WRX. Mitsubishi and others have followed since but the bar was raised to new level with the 300hp 2004 STI. The latest front end design took some getting used to but it still is a mighty machine and a deserving COTY contender for it's dollar-to-power ratio.
If I could vote more than once I'd choose the Z06 for reinventing high powered US muscle, also at a great price. |

How are a porcupine and a Beamer different?
On a porcupine, the pricks on the outside! ;-) I told this joke to my niece. Unfortunately she and her hubby had just bought one! i don't think she is talking to me yet! |

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!
Hey dadcarguy, I have a pretty good idea what the whole V.W. group lost on the Veyron project. All I said was it took big brass one's to go forward with the plan to "make the fastest production car on earth" and come through with their boast. Overated, maybe. Did they accomplish what they set out to do? You tell me. I voted for the zo6 C6 myself as car of the year. Why? Because it will whoop cars 3 times it's price in peformance area's. And aside from a "loopy" idle, it will probably be one of the more liveable supercars you can drive. I only mentioned the two cars because I respect the capabilities of both.

Like what has been said before, the Corvette is the best bang for the buck. I have always loved Corvette and this new ZO6 is just awsome. 11.7 in the 1/4 mile, and 1.02 G's on the skidpad. Carbonfiber front fenders and floor board, magnesium composite roof, titanium connecting rods, it's a work of art. The Bugatti is nice but too much money and not the first super car to be that fast. The speed 12 did 0-60 in 2.3 seconds. All the Bugatti is, is an extremely heavy and cool looking car, with a really big motor and four turbos, of course it produces a lot of power.

I meant nothing negative by what I said. In fact I noticed that the cost of the Veyron was already mentioned before I even posted my reply...shame on me for not reading all the threads (lol) Actually, the "SSC Ultimate Aero" may be faster (273 mph top speed) than the Veyron...but it's not mentioned in this top 10 showdown. Maybe next year? |
