Who makes the V8 in the Esprit V8?

Always wanted to know. Do they make it themselves or do they still get some stuff from GM like back in the day?

Re: Who makes the V8 in the Esprit V8?

Details on the V8 are here. It appears they used experience modifying the Corvette engine in developing their own V8. Although the two aren't directly related.

The V8 was developed by Lotus cars ltd as a technology demonstrator to show how small they could make a 3.5l twin turbo v8 and was designed for fwd cars. It make it's way into the Esprit to further demonstrate the effectiveness of the technology.
