1970 (?) Honda 1300 Coupe9
This built Honda 1300 Coupe9 has been in my "to restore" pile for upwards of 30 years. Bought for $10 at the old Toledo toy show.
The model was mostly complete, not having any signs of ever having mirrors, missing one separate chrome door handle and the two front turn signals. So here are some before shots, along w/the post-paint-stripping appearance. It came apart easily, the pale yellow paint was so thoroughly applied it took two Easy Off sessions and completely hid the fact that the body was molded in canary yellow...I always assumed it was white underneath. Plan is Tamiya light blue pearl (IIRC it's a Honda Fit color) with black vinyl top. Gel pen whitewalls seem to give the right almost-disco-malaise-era effect. I have never seen another one of these models (nor a real car); I believe it's a Nitto kit. Glad I picked this one up when I did, even if it's taken this long to actually restore it.

cool, 1/24th scale? i've never seen one as well.
i wonder if it may be an old Doyusha kit, they have done some off beat Japanese steel. you know as soon as you finish it Hasegawa will make a new tooling of it. : ) Paul |

How tricky is the Easy Off to use for paint stripping? My only experience with the stuff involves overdone pot roasts.

It's easy; it's nasty stuff so you spray it on, wearing gloves and don't breathe it, and put it in a plastic bag for awhile. Then you remove it from the bag and start wiping it away; a used scrunge sponge is handy. Follow by rinsing and a Dawn/warm water bath and another rinse.

A bit more progress; first photo was a week ago in the first primer stage, I'm also starting a resin HRM Ferrari 250 TDF Long Wheelbase.
But the Honda gets the attention now, it's about to get color after I added vinyl top chrome trim and a final coat of Tamiya primer:
