How much will i need to do.....

yea, you guys probably get tired of these questions, but i wanted to know how much i would have to do to beat or atleast have equivalent power to a stock 5th gen vtec (excluding driver ability, etc.). I have a 1995 Si with CAI and Cat-back exhaust. From what i've seen the torque is about the same, but that vtec makes some extra horses! I'm not going out trying to race every 5th gen i see, it's just that engine swaps are out of the question, and i'd like to make some good power. Thanks for any suggestions.

get new headers to complete the I/H/E system.

it's going to be hard to beat the vtec since it is kind of like a new set of cams when it activates. I too have an SE/Si h23a anyways. the h22a revs alot higher and will be more efficient than the stock h23a in the higher rpms because of vtec.

our h23a redlines at 6.5k and the h22a redlines at 7.2k so that's a big difference.

- reduce weight
- n20(40 shot)
- turbo

(in order of ascending price)

Nothing that isn't going to exceed or match the price of an engine swap.

Re: How much will i need to do.....

i basically have i/h/e on my h23, with the exception of two items. i also have a lsd (limited slip differential) and a stage three clutch. two things that i believe to be greatly over looked in the (honda)drag race world. at the track, i can keep up and a lot of times beat stock vtecs. the stage three clutch makes the difference. it's the best acceleration mod i have purchased. on the other hand, my car is a daily driver, and the thing gets annoying.

Really? My Exedy racing clutch has a similar drivability to stock. Of course I also lightened my flywheel, but I haven't noticed any drastic differences in daily drivability. What kind of clutch did you get? Stage __ or whatever really doesn't tell anything.
