Bugatti 2003 16/4 Veryon
This car is the XJ220 Jaguar never had. It is exactually what Jaguar wanted the XJ220 to be. All wheel drive, large displacement engine. The only thing is that it is French and has 16 cylinders. The power output is, I think, a little higher than what Jaguar would have wanted but the car is like the excact same thing.

I believe it. 1001 HP is a shit load. But I only know of two cars with engines in a configuration like that.

I read in C&D that that is the European rating system, which is not exactly like the American system. Here it translates to something more like 925-950, i think. Its still a shit load of power though

No, its hp. I know you think I am thinking of Newton Meters of Torque, but I read an article in Car & Driver talking about the Veyron and this European HP system...I am positive it was horsepower. I hadn't heard of this system before the article. I'll try to fing it though (the article) and see...

what are you talking about hakka?? i haven't heard about that. i have that C and D with the bugatti and it didn't say anything about a Euro hp rating. so you're saything something like the 996 turbo will only have about 350 US hp?? and the F1 only like 550 US hp?

Volkswagen is claiming that the Bugatti will have a top speed of 248.5 mph. I'm doubting that it will actually do that...when they build a real one.
Whitebread: What did you mean by "But I only know of two cars with engines in a configuration like that"? |

The engine banks. The engine in the Bugatti is not a V, I, or Boxer, is it.
The only other car with that style of engine, that i know of, is is a Vector. |

All Vectors had V engines. The W8 was, in fact, a Chevy 350 block and the M12 was a Lamborghin V12 engine.
The only "W" engines on the market come from VW. The new Passat W8 and Audi A8 6.0 are the only cars I can think of in history to have a four-bank "V" engine. There have been some "rotary" engines...not Wankels...where the pistons were positioned in a circle around the crankshaft, just like early piston engined planes. They haven't built any production cars like this, that I know of, in many decades. |

Pretty much amazing

I'd like to see a radial car engine, It would be very tall though. Volkswagen's new "Supercar" also has a W12.

Volkswagen's W12 "supercar" is just a concept at this point.
