CITROËN 15 SIX "Cabriolet" 1939 - 1/8 scale - Heller kit

Hi.

This is the second - of three - Citroën projects I'm involved in. The first of them, already completed, is on this thread:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1152107

This one is being a pain in the butt, really, 'cos it's much more difficult to get a nice model of the "roadster", working from a "sedan" kit.
But it sure is a delight to try this!

So, in February, I grabbed this old seventies kit...

... which originally was made to make this...

... try to transform it into this:

Now, lets see some of the work already done:

Re: CITROËN 15 SIX "Cabriolet" 1939 - 1/8 scale - Heller kit

I really wish you a good luck. I had similar thoughts to convert a sedan kit to a convertible. Although it was supposed to be done in 1/24, it was scary enough to abandon the whole project. When you look closely you will find that the convertible is significantly different from the sedan. By the way, there used to be an 1/32 kit by Matchbox Traction convertible a long, long time ago, but luckily not in a different galaxy. Perhaps it can provide a good reference and guidance to your conversion task.

Regards

Walid.

And that's all, for now.
I promise I will keep this thread updated, as soon I will advance on this work.
Suggestions and critics will be much appreciated, of course!

Hi, Walid. Thanks for the tips.
You know, unfortunately, the 1/32 or even the 1/24 scale doesn't compare with the kind of detail the 1/8 scale have.
On this kit, everything works like the real thing. The engine has all the parts work like the real engine, as the majority are moving parts.
Even the pedals, hand break, and so on are moving parts. It's almost unbelievable the detail of this kit, if we remember we are talking about a seventies kit.

Best regards, mate

I know. I was talking about the general shape and dimensions, not the details.
