New 325Cic
Hi, I new to the group, can you tell me why so many people complain about the blind spot, backing up in the converitable. It didn't seem to brother me when I test drove the car. I will be recieving my new car in about a month, as I type its on the boat coming over. I left off the alarm and the Nav system, and of course it is a 5 speed, steel metallic blue, blue top. One last thing what brand of alarms are most of you guys installing, into the car. :flash:

Congrats on the new car. I've never driven a convertable so I can't really comment on the blind spot, but with the size of the 3 series mirrors how can it be a problem.
I haven't actually heard of anyone installing anything other than the OEM alarm. (although I am sure ppl do) The car is prewired for it so its an easy install. You can do it yourself. You will need to have the dealer activate it for you, though. So if you DIY then make sure you are friendly with the dealer. |

It's because the rear window is smaller on a convertable than a sedan. Of course who actually turns all the way around to see that area???
Solution... keep the top down. Enjoy your new car.

Hi, Coffey. Have your convertible yet?
I have a '01 325Cic... and I have noticed somewhat of a blindspot due to the reason the other post mentioned (the rear window being smaller than in a sedan). But, I have owned several other convertibles and the back window in the 3-series is far better than in most others. If you play around with your side mirrors, you can eliminate much of that problem. Oh, and BTW... the blue/blue convertibles look great! Enjoy your top-down summer!
