Question Preparing car for re-paint

Hey guys...
I was wondering i am customizing my 1/18 dodge viper that was blue with double white racing strips. I took them off, but I am not really sure what the next step is to prepare the car for paint. Do I sand it to metal or just primer right over the factory color.... I need some help here guys...Thanx a lot

Re: Preparing car for re-paint

There was a Scale Auto Magazine article on this a few years ago: He used some chemical to strip the factory paint. I can look it up for you when I get home.

Re: Preparing car for re-paint

I'll move this to the right forum.

You can use Jasco paint stripper on diecasts. Search the diecast forum for other techniques.
