1/9 Ducati Desmosedici RR

Hi folks
I'm back this time with the Italeri 1/9 Ducati Desmosedici RR, so far this is what I've done.

1. I have replaced the radiator as the original was no good.

2.The shock absorber was also upgraded as the original strut was to soft and bent under pressure, its covered up as the engine is due for paint the other covered items are the oil cooler hoses.

3.The main frame had the two front strut parts changed as they were not the right angle like the real one.

4.The rear seat hump has had some change in the way of the rear number plate housing and the enamel panel that sits over the exhaust outlet.

5.The rear swing arm had the brake housing removed as it didn't resemble the real thing, I have also added the bobbins where the stand supports the bike and a brake hose clip has been added but its not shown in this pic, and I'm now working on a new brake caliper housing for the rear brake.

I also added a brake reservoir to the rear of the foot peg mount.

6.The brake reservoirs on the handle bars have had a touch up one being totally replaced as it was to large and now looks the part.

I also made good the front suspension.

Cheers Clive

Nice work so far. But will you keep those tires? Because they have too many profile.

I love the Italeri/Protar 1/9 bike kits.
Too bad my modelling skills are seriously not up to the task of detailing on such a scale.

Re: 1/9 Ducati Desmosedici RR

Hi there
unfortunately I can not change the tyres as they don't make aftermarket accessories for this scale of bike. But they do come into the UK with the Bridgestone tyres fitted. Anyway here's a catch up on the progress I've made.

That's all for now more on the way cheers Clive.

not tyres but this guy produces, or at least used to produce parts for 1/9 scale bikes.
he used to have fantastic photo etched chain parts for sale but looks like he isn't making them anymore.

edit:

well, I sent them a quick email and lo and behold, he updated the stock and it looks like the 1/9 chains are still available.
time to order a few of those myself.

Hi drunken monkey
there's no clue as to who you are referring to, do you have the website or a link. Here's a quick update.

Next the finishing touches and she's done.

Re: 1/9 Ducati Desmosedici RR

oops.
posting from my phone and must've missed putting in the link.
anyway, its Cosmo's Factory.

As I said, they updated their stock for the photo-etch chain after I emailed them . If you do a search of the older 1/9 MV Agusta builds here, you'll see some of the guys have used them and they really do look quite amazing.
