Unhappy Difference between 240 and 260z???

Hey Ive been looking at 240zs lately to get a car to just have fun with..but I was wondering what the difference between the two were. I heard that they were a little heavier but I really have no idea. Also a question I also had thats totally unrelated..I was wondering what the quarter mile time is for a N/A 300zx. Thanks a lot.

which 300zx N/A...the Z32 (90-96) runs a mid 15-low 15 int he 1/4 mile stock. the Z31 N/A (84-89) is generously slower.

as for the difference between the 240Z and 260Z, i dont know much about either one. i can tell you that one has a 2.6L inline 4 and one has a 2.4L inline 4...but i dont see much difference in appearance but there are some that i think makes the 240Z look much better. i think the 260Z is longer...

ehh...whatever.

if i had either, it would not have the stock motor in there, ill tell you that much... RB25DET!!!

yeah and speaking of TT's...most do run very high 13's to very low 14's.

but there was one posted soemwhere that claimed to have a cat-back and thats it and he ran a 13.3...either that cat-back was magical, the car was one of those rare factory magic cars, he had some glue for tires, or he was just lying but he didnt seem liek he was lying because he was just as surprised as i was.

I have both cars, a 1971 240z, and an early 1974 260z. There are a lot of differences. Are you interested in body, chasis, or mechanical differences? As Nissan put it- The 260z is the next logical step. To me the 260z is a much nicer car. Its more refined.

Thought it would be a good eulogy to the question. To leave that quandry on a lesson of experience. But you just had to point out that the corpse I was talking to was in fact quite dead...but without your words that one stroke kill I fell would have gone unnoticed and unexplained. Now more can bathe in this rare and simple fact of life.
