What is the A/M button next to the gearshift on an automatic?
does this stand for automatic/manual. if it does please tell me how to use this or just post any information u have on this.

yes it does- shifting it to the left- the stick allows you to treat the car as a manual w/o the clutch- push up and down to upshift and downshift-

I have had this similar question for a long time in regards to my mom's 2000 7 series- when you hit that A/M switch to the M, an "M" shows up in the gear display, but then what do you do? where do you push up and down to shift?
I can see that it must be different than the steptronic trans I have, but is it similar? |

can't you move your gear in a position where you can push up and down the gear?
