distributor
The distributor in my 1995 900 is leaking oil into cap and onto wires. Do I have a problem with O ring or is their a problem within the distributor? i.e. the shaft is allowing oil to flow by Is their an easy fix or do I need new distributor?
Thanks, Herb |

Re: distributor
Other than the bolt you see in the mounting flange there on the side of the head under the distributor itself, the distributor is clamped into place with a collar with two(2) torx screws located inside of the valve cover.
However, leakage around the distributor indicates a fault in your "positive crankcase ventilation system" (PCV). I'd suggest removing the PCV nipple there on the back, left-hand side of the valve cover, remove the small and large diameter hoses (checking them for residual oil deposits) and cleaning it out with some "brake wash" parts cleaner and a small "bottle brush" and a thin piece of wire (for the smaller nipples channel). Replace and reconnect everything and see if that solves your problem. Last edited by adept-I; 05-22-2006 at 02:50 PM. |
