Impressions - MFH Adhesive cloth for seat

I ordered these awhile back. Model Factory Hiro released them a few weeks ago, and they peeked my interested. Finally got here (SAL is getting slower). Just some of my impressions in case any of you have seen these and wondered.

The fabric is very fine and very soft. It looks in scale and feels nice. I can see this being used as a flocking alternative in addition to doing fabric for seats (as MFH says). Referenced against #11 blade.

Compared against craft store felt (Presto-felt from Hobby Lobby). You can see the difference in the fineness and thickness. I bought the craft store felt for flocking but never used it. Didn't look in scale, in my opinion.

Compared against interior of Aoshima Mark II. You can see the difference. It's not quite as fine as flocking but easier application. I've never tried those 3D/landscape paints (like from SMS, Tamiya), so I can't compare, but I don't know many people that use those, even amongst the military modelers.

I'm pleased with it. Can't wait to try it in my next interior. Moderately priced. 600yen for 10cm by 15cm. Probably enough to 2, maybe 3 interiors depending on the size. I think there are 6 colors available.

Well reminds me of the one provided in the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3 kit. I like the texture and scale of it but it can be pretty hard to apply on difficult corners and niches. Probably it will take more time and effort than CF. But it looks really good IMO.

Hmm. Do they make it in leather? If not, think they will release leather? I need material for my 1/6 interior.

Mike, you may want to check out the latest issue of Scale Auto, they have an interesting how to article on using leather in interiors. Coincidentally, the cover model is R-M's 1/6 Duece.

Why not use real leather? At 1/6 scale you should have no problems. Check out Alex Kustovs site, hes got a great tutorial.

Cheers
